My Role:
Repositioning a traditional indian grocery store. As a contemporary, community-driven retail destination in Milton Keynes, UK, targeting a 35% increase in foot traffic while safeguarding cultural authenticity.
Challenge Overview
Outdated System vs. Rapidly Evolving Community
Milton Keynes' South Asian community grew by 40% over five years, but Bhima Foods' visual identity remained unchanged since 2008. Outpaced by clean modern supermarket chains and curated online apps, they lacked the system to tell their rich, authentic story.
From System to Surface
A Modular Production Framework
Template-First Thinking
Every banner begins as a grid-locked template with fixed brand zones (logo lockup, tagline strip, product window) ensuring consistency before creativity enters.
Contextual Adaptation
A single campaign concept is stress-tested across formats: hoarding, standee, shelf talker, A4 brochure and each composition respects the medium's viewing distance and hierarchy.
Layered Art Direction
Photography is treated as a design material, not decoration. Product shots are color-graded to the seasonal palette, composed with negative space that accommodates typography.
Print-Ready Handoff
Every asset exports with bleed marks, CMYK-safe color fallbacks, and format-specific type minimums. No rework loops between design and print vendor.
